Let’s face it — working in a modern office is a daily exercise in dodging nonsense. From meetings that never end to Slack channels that could double as escape rooms, the workplace has become a battlefield of ridiculousness we’ve all had to master.

Brace yourself for a rollercoaster of painful truths that will have you nodding in recognition, wincing at the absurdity, and chuckling just enough to keep you sane through the chaos.

Silo is the New Cross-Nonfunctional

In today’s workplace, silos are less about grain storage and more about the well-fortified islands where departments build their own little kingdoms. These well-developed islands are often fueled when C-suite can’t agree on priorities, strategies, or who gets credit for that ‘brilliant new initiative” that suspiciously looks like a much outdated idea.

Employees are often caught in the middle of this corporate custody battle, shuttled between feuding departmental parents like children from a messy divorce. “Product team said this, but Marketing said that,” equivalent to “Mom said I could, but Dad said no.” And just like those poor kids, employees quickly learn the art of selective obedience: doing just enough to avoid grounding by either…
